Write, Love, Breathe

There is a common phrase which tells us to: “Write what you know”.

Pretty hard for someone who considers themselves to be a perpetual student and knowing that I really *know* nothing. (YMMV)

However, if I spin the phrase a bit and tell myself: “Write what you love”. Ah-ha. THAT I can do.

Here lately what I love are Vision Boards, Cake, and long-Netflix-binge sessions on the couch. Not entirely conducive to all the big plans about how 2017 is going to change my lifestyle.

As we all do with stress, some things go right out the window. Unfortunately, those things are usually the habits we need to hold most dearly to. Basic Hygiene, Not missing the work-out that truly keeps your brain straight, the filtering of mail that helps keep out clutter and saves you work down the road. Stress and the snowball effect seem to go hand in hand.

It’s recognition of this cycle, a self-reinforcing cycle, that helps you change momentum earlier than a crash. Take the mail example from earlier.

  1. Don’t filter the mail turns into
  2. Extra pile up on the coffee table leads to
  3. Missing the potentially important stuff leads to
  4. A late bill turns into
  5. More avoidable stress

Hopefully when you recognize your signals and signs of overly stressed you can help yourself by doing one little thing.
